OC completes first stage of CSO capacity building support

IMG_20151112_081545OC has been engaged by an INGO to support the capacity building of Syrian civil society organisations (CSOs). The first part of this project was recently completed in Gazientep, Turkey. It focused on organisational capacity building to enable Syrian CSOs to better respond to their communities’ needs. It tackled strategic organisational thinking (mission, vision, values), organisational good governance (looking at leadership, transparency and accountability), then on engaging in constructive communications with stakeholders (internal, external, teamwork).  Dr Ghassan Elkahlout, OC Associate, was the lead trainer. OC’s Head of Research travelled there too as project manager for the wider project and to meet some local (potential) partners. Where the training had participants from most parts of Syria, trainees were understandably reluctant to be photographed.
